Local artist Ron Stephens has teamed up with Cheshire West and Chester Council to create an exhibition of paintings and prints of heritage buildings in Northwich and beyond. Ron Stephens became interested in art during secondary school going on to study graphic design at Leeds and Manchester. After a gap of 30 years, a visit to Visual Arts Cheshire (VAC) gallery prompted him to take up painting again and in 2016 his love of interesting buildings inspired him to create a series of ‘line and wash’ paintings. Chester Male Voice Choir, one of Chester’s leading choirs, have begun rehearsals again after lockdown halted face-to-face rehearsals, giving the choir’s new members a chance to perform at their first open rehearsal since the lockdown. The Townhouse in Chester’s historic city centre features a restaurant and bar called The Secret Garden, 20 comfortable rooms, and two “group” apartments. Chester Zoo will host an exhibition featuring giant interactive works of art made from waste and trash. It’s being unveiled as the world-renowned zoo celebrates its 90th anniversary as a leading wildlife charity.
