Known for its historic mansions and contemporary hotels, De Vere is contributing £560,000 to NHS Charities Together, which is supporting hospital staff, volunteers, and patients affected by the pandemic.

This donation will benefit NHS staff, volunteers, and patients in key areas including Cheshire with welfare and wellbeing, assistance after a patient leaves a hospital, and long-term mental health support for NHS workers.

There are De Vere properties all over the country, from Surrey to the Cotswolds, surrounded by magnificent estates and parklands where guests can find hidden scenic lakes, sculptures, and picturesque views of the countryside. All properties are situated within walking distance of some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes, so you can enjoy exploring the great British outdoors.

In recognition of their excellent work, dedication, and commitment during such a challenging time, we’re delighted to give something back to the NHS. We are incredibly proud to be able to donate over half a million pounds to such a worthwhile cause and continue to help in the fight against COVID-19 said Tony Troy, CEO at De Vere in a statement.

Alan Corlett, Chief Commercial Officer at De Vere added: “At De Vere, we are always looking for ways to support our local communities and charities close to our heart. We are honored to be able to make this significant donation to NHS Charities Together to say thank you to those who have looked after us and kept us safe throughout the pandemic.”

Ellie Orton OBE, Chief Executive at NHS Charities Together, said “NHS staff have delivered incredible care under the most impossible circumstances over the last 18 months, and we continue to be in awe of their dedication. They have gone above and beyond for their patients, not just acting as healthcare professionals but in some cases family to those isolated from loved ones during the pandemic. They have often been the only person there to say goodbye at the end – taking off their gloves to hold the hands of dying patients, so they might feel skin to skin contact before passing away.

“This has taken a huge toll, and many staff have experienced genuine trauma. We are so proud to be able to provide them with the mental health support they so richly deserve and, together, support the long-term recovery of the NHS.”

As part of its portfolio, De Vere estates include De Vere Cotswold Water Park, which is set in a nature reserve with a beautiful lake, and De Vere Wokefield Estate, which has an 18 hole championship golf course. De Vere Tortworth Court lies within a 30-acre estate that includes a Victorian arboretum with more than 300 trees and plants.

There is a 44-acre De Vere Beaumont Estate that has natural ponds, a manicured garden, as well as quirky sculptures. Located in Buckinghamshire, De Vere Latimer Estate houses an Area of Outstanding Beauty as well as De Vere Horsley Estate, a 19th-century mansion house in Surrey.
