Local country estate Combermere Abbey in Whitchurch is set to receive a second financial boost from the Government, as part of the ongoing £1.57bn Culture Recovery Fund that it received in October last year too. More than 2,700 organisations were selected to receive the second grant. Nearly £400 million has been awarded to thousands of cultural organisations across the country, including Combermere Abbey, in the latest round of support from the Culture Recovery Fund, the Culture Secretary has announced. Cheshire West and Chester Council have secured a significant boost towards its ambitious target date of 2030 to achieve carbon neutrality for the Council’s own emissions, as well as a carbon-neutral borough by 2045.
