In collaboration with Cheshire Dance, Cheshire West and Chester Council have announced the return of Now Northwich in 2022.

Now Northwich Festival is a FREE family-friendly festival of international street arts and dance in the Cheshire city of Northwich.

Now Northwich festival 2020, which was meant to explore the arts through dance and music, was unfortunately halted due to the pandemic on October 3rd.

Amidst the challenging circumstances brought on by the pandemic, community recovery and renewal have been at the core of the decision to prioritise the return of this much loved and widely supported festival.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said:

“Northwich has been graced with walking dinosaurs, a parade of giant insects, a spaceman, dance and music. The festival promised ‘expect the unexpected and that’s exactly what it has delivered.

“The pandemic has sadly prevented a festival this year but that just gives us all something to look forward to next April. There are no details about the festival programme yet but I’m sure there will be a few teasers later in the year to get us ready.”

Adam Holloway, Director of Cheshire Dance, the festival producers said:

“The scene is set.  The first two Now Northwich events will be a hard act to follow but we’ve been working hard over the last few months to create something special for next April.  In the meantime, we’ll be out and about working with communities across the locality, reconnecting, supporting recovery and preparing for the event.

“We’re grateful for the support of our festival partners including Cheshire West and Chester Council, Arts Council England, Northwich Town Council, Northwich BID, Barons Quay, Council Members and the local Rotary Clubs.

“Finally, I’d like to reassure everyone that every effort will be made to adapt this event to any COVID-related restrictions necessary in the run-up and during the festival so that we all feel safe.”

The Northwich Festival has become a major event in the town’s calendar, welcoming visitors from far and wide since its start in 2018. Families, friends, whole communities, along with local businesses, have all taken part and made Northwich their own. All ages are in for a treat!
