Cheshire power couple hails success of interiors, gift, and coffee shop: Me & Mr Jones

Ex-air stewards Paul Jones and Adrian Leary are flying high as their Frodsham interiors, gift and coffee shop, Me & Mr. Jones, proving a massive success with the locals.

Me & Mr. Jones is a unique gift shop, interiors boutique, and coffee shop set in the beautiful Cheshire village of Frodsham.

As an entrepreneur, you may think business and love can’t blend. But there’s no reason couples can’t work together to create an extraordinary business. Paul and Ade – a couple in life as well as business, have worked together for many years, previously as stewards with Thomas Cook.

With their transferable customer-centered skills, Paul and Ade have proven to be perfect hosts and locals favorites at their own unique blend of a coffee shop, gift shop, and interior design premises, nestled in a lovely Grade II listed building. The uniqueness of this pair works so well with their flair for hospitality and their story is a testament to the fact that success can come out of adversity.

The Frodsham-based couple had planned to continue with their passion for serving customers by opening up a boutique coffee shop after they were made redundant from the airline in September
    2019.

They had secured premises at The Old Ticket Office on Frodsham railway station and were almost ready for take-off when the COVID disruption hit.

While the COVID crisis over the last year made operating their shop difficult, it created opportunities for the couple to prove their resilience through creative pivots and leveraging community resources by sourcing the best suppliers – locally, wherever possible, offering them a way to conveniently attract top customers.

In a statement with TGC Paul & Ade owners of Me & Mr Jones Frodsham said:

“To date, we’ve been open for 9 months & spent half of that time in lockdown! Thankfully we’ve been able to remain open during lockdowns #2 & #3 for takeout plus click & collect, which has kept us sane.

Since opening, our original business plan has been turned completely upside down.
The gift & interiors have been so well received we’ve decided to concentrate our efforts there & carry on with takeout drinks/cakes.

The sit-in coffee shop is now on hold indefinitely. We are making a name for ourselves as purveyors of high-quality goods & by offering impeccable service – something which is sadly lacking these days.”

Me & Mr Jones is located at Unit 2, Station House, Church Street, WA6 7DJ, Frodsham open Thursday-Monday 10-5 & Sunday 11-4 for a great selection of drinks & treats to take away.
