A beautiful three-story beauty salon has opened in Chester after two friends teamed up to create a gorgeous salon offering a full range of beauty services includes hairdressing, manicures, aesthetics, make-up, and training.

MANE, located in Chester city centre on Abbey green close off Northgate Street, has been completely remodelled and transformed by owners Leah and Kelly into a luxury beauty space fit for the stars.

With the opening of their breathtaking salon premises, the pair has been able to hire self-employed hairdressers, beauty therapists, nail technicians, as well as open a beauty training academy.

An interview with TGC recently revealed that the owners, Kelly Anne and Leah, overcame the challenges of opening their business during an ongoing pandemic, in addition to transitioning from self-employment to employing 20 or more hair and beauty professionals within a year.

Leah and Kelly expressed the same sentiments to TGC and stated:

Our background is hairdressing, we are also qualified, educators and trainers. When we lost our hairdressing jobs during the third lockdown, we saw this as an opportunity to become entrepreneurs and achieve not just our dreams of owning a salon but also thought of what others in our field may be experiencing.

Since we did not have access to government funding or family inheritance, we made sacrifices and were forced to use all our savings to start the business. Our sacrifices paid off as we acquired the building during the lockdown and took on the huge task of painting and renovating it ourselves, we rolled up our sleeves and broke our necks to get it ready for the grand opening.

We wanted to showcase Chester’s resilient beauty industry as most hospitality venues have done by launching a stylish interior salon, given how hard it has been hit by the Pandemic. From hosting masterclasses, photoshoots, lash and hair extensions installations, facials, and transforming mothers and daughters, we’ve been extremely busy since opening.

The pair posted updates on social media regarding the salon renovation as it was being prepared for opening, which increased the popularity and client base of the business, just in time for the end of lockdown.

Kelly and Leah added: We are amazed at how quickly the salon has grown and attracted locals and stars. Since housing all beauty treatments from hairdressing/extensions, nails, brows+lashes, makeup, aesthetics, and upgrading the salon, we are able to both fulfil our dream of owning a business and provide employment opportunities for a local beauty professional.

Hair and beauty professionals have been overlooked as an important part of the economy until recently, and what better way to create jobs than to hire those who have been laid off due to the pandemic.

In response to the warm response, M.A.N.E. is now welcoming new students to apply for training at their academy. You can reach out to their social media team by sending a message @mane_chester on Facebook and Instagram.

Additionally, if you are a beauty practitioner looking to host a masterclass or looking for an apprenticeship, or if you are a hair and beauty trainer looking to host an event or photoshoot, you can contact the team at mane@hairdresser.net or simply visit their salon premises at 2A Abbey Green, Chester, United Kingdom CH1 2JH Chester, UK.
