Hickory’s Smokehouse has been named in the Top 100 ‘Best Large Companies‘ list as one of the best places to work in the UK.
The restaurant group prides itself in offering its employees a fun and friendly culture underpinned by five core values: Authentic, Welcoming, Passionate, Daring and Community.
In addition to the first UK restaurant the company opened in Chester, Cheshire in 2010, 11 more have since been opened across northwest England as well as one in Northern Ireland. The newest of the restaurants will open in Wilmslow next month.
Over the course of lockdown, the team and the community at Hickory’s raised £65,000 to assist families affected by Covid-19. As a result, its chefs cooked more than 3,200 meals that were funded by the curbside pickup orders and volunteers.
As a reward for staff commitment, Hickory offers training, coaching, career progression opportunities, and exciting team trips. These trips will include stops in Louisiana, New Orleans, Mississippi and other places where Hickory’s business was inspired and upon which it is built.
Hickory’s Smokehouse founder, Neil McDonnell, Said:
On the national list, ranked alongside Flat Iron, Hawksmoor, Dishoom, Mowgli, Peach Pubs, Paragon Pubs and The Coaching Inn. It’s great to see when the hospitality industry is finally taken seriously as an employer of choice.
The restaurant group is delighted to receive the award and what better way to celebrate than having all its restaurants fully reopen, ready to welcome all its wonderful customers.
