The Chester Grovenor’s rebranded ‘Arkle’ restaurant has appointed a high-level Executive Chef promising fine dining at its very best.

The Chester Grosvenor, a five-star hotel that sits in the very heart of the historic city of Chester in Cheshire, has appointed a new Executive Chef to head up the food offering at its ‘Arkle’ restaurant – which was previously known as ‘Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor’.

Elliot Hill, who comes to the hotel having formerly been Head Chef at Liverpool’s Panoramic 34 restaurant, is taking up the reins from its former Executive Chef, Simon Radley, who left The Chester Grosvenor in October 2021, after a total of over 30 years at the hotel.

Elliott came to the Chester Grosvenor with a wealth of experience, having served most recently as Head Chef at Panoramic 34 in Liverpool, where he earned and retained an entry in the Michelin guide. Prior to this, Elliott served within the Bespoke Hotels group as Head Chef at Oddfellows Chester, where he rebranded the business and its ‘Cultivated’ restaurant.

The Chester Grosvenor’s General Manager, Richard Grove, commenting on the appointment, said:

Elliot is a creative and ambitious chef. He is passionate about food and the development of those working with him, his enthusiasm is contagious, and I am confident he will inspire the whole team and be a real asset to the hotel.”

He added: “The Chester Grosvenor has a reputation for outstanding cuisine, and we’re looking forward to Elliot enhancing that reputation as he moulds our offering to fit with his vision.”

Elliot Hill, who is Chester-born and raised, said: “I am proud and honoured to join The Chester Grosvenor and head up the kitchen in my home city. Not only is the hotel a Chester icon, but a culinary institution that has led the way for decades. I am incredibly excited to join the whole team, where I’ll seek to continue and build on the tradition of excellence and be part of the hotel’s future. I also cannot wait to launch our restaurant ‘Arkle’, a refined dining experience delivered the Cestrian way.”

The Arkle restaurant at The Chester Grosvenor is set to open in March 2022. For more information on the hotel and its food offering, please visit https://www.chestergrosvenor.com/
