Chester Northgate will soon house BrewDog, a pioneering Scottish craft beer brewery that will open in Chester’s historic city centre in autumn 2022.

BrewDog will be adding to the list of high profile brands opening at Chester Northgate, including the Florist, Tapas Revolution, Cosy Club, and Picturehouse Cinema, as part of the Northgate development, in the city centre. Occupying 3,000 square feet of space fronting Princess Street, which is renamed Exchange Square.

Brewdog has been a giant in the beer industry since its launch in 2007; its flagship Punk IPA and groundbreaking Equity for Punks crowdfunding initiatives have led it to have over 100 bars worldwide, exports into over 60 countries, and has breweries in Ellon Scotland, Columbus Ohio, Berlin Germany, and Brisbane Australia.

Councillor Richard Beacham, Cabinet Member for Housing, Regeneration and Growth, said: “We are delighted to secure such a high-profile and innovative brand to join us at Northgate, BrewDog will be a fantastic asset to the scheme.

“Their unique and maverick approach has established a reputation as a world-famous brewer, and I know residents and visitors to Chester will be excited to see them in the city.”

In securing the BrewDog letting, the council was advised by its retained Leasing Managers RivingtonHark.RivingtonHark are the development managers for the Northgate project who have helped the Council obtain a major hybrid planning consent in late 2016, secure the necessary CPO, RCO, and Market powers following a public inquiry in 2018, and secure numerous pre-lets including Picturehouse Cinemas.
