Crewe Market Hall will reopen on 19 May following a £3m refurbishment, with a line-up of top-quality traders ready to welcome customers through the doors.

The historic building has been completely transformed as part of Cheshire East Council’s town centre regeneration programme and is now home to a variety of independent local businesses, a new seating area with bespoke tables and chairs, and a stage, which will be used as part of the Market Hall’s exciting calendar of events.

Previously it was announced that The Crewe Dog, Nature’s Street Chef, Crewe Asian Store, BYOCrewe, Wattle & Home, Jordy’s Pizza, Mighty Burger Club, Casa Mexico, Burton West Barbers and Mini Beans Coffee were all joining the Market Hall.

TGC is here to share details of must-visit traders revealed to be joining the newly refurbished Crewe market hall to open on the 19th May 20121.

Family-run Jordy’s Pizza will be serving up mouth-watering flavours with its handmade wood-fired pizzas.

Jordy’s Pizza also provides mobile pizza catering in Cheshire and surrounding areas for a range of events including weddings, parties, birthdays, corporate events and more.

Jordan Hassall, owner of Jordy’s Pizza, said:

“I’m very excited to open at Crewe Market Hall. As soon as I heard about it and saw the plans, I wanted to be a part of it.

“As our current customers already know, our pizzas are all made to order from scratch using authentic ingredients and traditional methods to produce exceptional pizza.

“We’re investing in the best wood-fired oven around and equipment to ensure we can provide customers with beautiful tasting pizzas and friendly service.”

Popular Northwich-based, The Salty Dog will be taking up occupancy of the bar called ‘The Crewe Dog’ – bringing with it a brilliant selection of craft beers and extensive experience in running bars and entertainment venues.

Owner Chris Mundie said:

“We are really looking forward to opening up in Crewe and bringing the best craft beer and real ale selection we can, the project looks amazing so far – we can’t wait to get started.”

Also joining the Market Hall is Mighty Burger Club with its great-tasting smash patty burgers, classic hot dogs and delicious shakes.

Customers will be tempted with a range of tasty sweet treats, including hot doughnuts, ice cream, cheesecakes, from new market traders Buttery Biscuit Base and Swirly Pearls.

The Market Hall will offer something for everyone, from weekly programmes of family fun activities, live music, a series of exhibitions, speciality pop up stalls, retail fairs, as well inclusive and collaborative community-focused events.

Part of a total £100m programme of investment in the town centre, the refurbishment of the Market Hall plays an important role in Crewe repositioning itself as a prime leisure and retail destination.

Councillor Nick Mannion, chair of Cheshire East Council’s economy and growth committee, said:

“The reopening of Crewe Market Hall has been hugely anticipated and it is extremely exciting to know that we are now just days away from inviting customers back inside.

“The building’s refurbishment is an integral part of our plans to revitalise Crewe, working alongside our partners, and it has been rewarding to see such an important town centre asset being transformed into the vibrant space it is now.

“It has also been fantastic to see such passion from the traders who have joined Market Hall and to hear their excitement at being part of this scheme.

“I wish them every success and hope local people will show them their support by going along and taking a look at all that is now on offer.”

The Market Hall will initially be open five days a week:

  • Wednesdays – 9.30am-6pm;
  • Thursdays – 9.30am-9pm;
  • Fridays – 9.30am-11pm;
  • Saturdays – 9.30am-11pm; and
  • Sundays – 10.30am-7pm.
