A new gin made with unusual and rare citrus fruits from all over the world, made by Combermere, Cheshire-based Three Wrens Gin, was launched on 24th May. The new expression features the rare Jara lemon, alongside Italian Bergamot, Kumquat, Pomelo & Shikuwasa
Presented in a stunning translucent yellow bottle, the gin is best served with Mediterranean Tonic and a slice of Jara lemon, or in a ‘white lady’ cocktail. The innovative gin producer has put recipes on the rear of the bottles for customers to enjoy making cocktails at home.
Customer and trade feedback so far includes quotes like “it tastes like summer in a bottle” and that the gin is “definitely going to be the drink of 2022”. Master distiller, Nick Wadeson, notes: “I am so proud of this gin, and spent months scouring the earth to find the perfect citrus fruits to work alongside our Tuscan Juniper. The gin took six months of research and trials before we came up with the final recipe, and we can’t wait to launch in into Cheshire’s best pubs, bars and restaurants!”
The news of the new citrus gin comes as last month, Three Wrens Gin announced its sustainable ‘gin on tap’ service. The distiller allows customers to come down and refill their bottles directly and shoppers can also receive £5 off the price of a refill for choosing this eco-friendly option.
The newly opened distillery in Combermere, just a few miles from the company’s original home in Cholmondeley, operates an open-door policy, allowing customers to drop in through working hours and watch the award-winning gin production and sample the range for free. Visitors can also take a ‘gin tasting tour’ or distilling experience which runs every Saturday, which is where guests can explore the distillery alongside enjoying gin and cocktail tasting, or even on the distilling day – make their very own bottled gin with their own botanicals!
The new citrus gin, alongside hampers, gift boxes and sample kits can be purchased on Three Wrens’ website, as well as in person at the distillery which is located in Cheshire on the Park View Business Centre on the Combermere estate.
