Bear Inns, operator of The Swan at Tarporley and The Lion at Malpas, has recently made a substantial donation to two local Cheshire causes, supporting both with much-needed financial support. The £1000 donation went to two different causes, with £750 going to Middlewich & District Foodbank and another £250 going to First Goostrey Scouts. Ruby Nightingale, Kieran Foster and Molly Madigan, all students at the North West End Acting School in Chester’s Garden Quarter, are taking their first steps to a professional career in the theatre. The office of High Sheriff of Cheshire, which dates back to Saxon times, was formally conferred on Jeannie France-Hayhurst on Sunday, April 10, by the Rev Tim Hayward, the pastor at St Boniface Church in the village.
