The £1000 donation went to two different causes, with £750 going to Middlewich & District Foodbank and another £250 going to First Goostrey Scouts. The Middlewich & District Foodbank does vital work in the Cheshire East region by providing families in crisis with emergency food parcels. Students of the Chester theatre school, North-west End Acting School, have set themselves up for success on the professional stage. Ruby Nightingale, Kieran Foster and Molly Madigan, all students at the North West End Acting School in Chester’s Garden Quarter, are taking their first steps to a professional career in the theatre. A new training program is being developed at the University of Chester that will train 60 members of university staff to provide support to people who disclose sexual violence across its campus. As part of the model, University staff are trained as First Responders in case of disclosures of sexual misconduct, as well as Sexual Violence Liaison Officers to provide ongoing support to students or staff who have experienced sexual misconduct. A new training programme is currently being rolled out to 15 of Warrington’s high schools and colleges to tackle sexual violence and in particular violence against women and girls. Delivered and funded as part of the Safer Streets Warrington initiative, the programme will cover sexual misconduct, consent, and bystander awareness to young people in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and will be delivered as part of the RSE curriculum. The Chester Festival Chorus’ “Music All Around Me” concert will feature performances of light classical pieces by Edward Elgar, Thomas Tallis, and Charles Villiers Stanford a cappella.
