It’s no secret the health and safety risks Covid-19 has posed on many industries, particularly the hospitality trade have forced so many of our loved restaurants to shut down completely or serve a limited number of customers. We are currently in a stage of transition where many people want to go out, and It’s more important now to support the hospitality sector with considerable restaurant etiquette.

The Guide Cheshire’s has compiled tips on etiquette’ for how to responsibly enjoy a meal out of isolation post-pandemic and support the hospitality sector who we greatly miss and have been hard hit from the disruption caused by the pandemic;

Do a good old internet investigation :

As restaurants and bars resume and continue operations, it is vital to follow considerations for ways in which operators can reduce the risk for employees, customers, and communities and slow the spread of COVID-19.

The last thing that comes to your mind post-pandemic is going online to explore your options and read reviews or look out for feedback that mentions safety protocols for reopening restaurants. Staying online and reading early reviews can help with understanding how well a restaurant has executed its opening post-pandemic. It is always a good idea to check for reviews from past visits, the restaurant setup since opening, and if there is an option for outdoor seating or extra ventilation”.

Personal prevention practices :

Advancing practices that decrease the spread is imperative when contacting surfaces or items that may in any case have the infection on them and lessening any contact like contacting your own mouth, nose, or eyes.

Restaurants and bars may implement several strategies that reduce the spread of COVID-19 among employees but as a customer, simple steps such as hand hygiene and looking out for restaurants that ensure they provide adequate supplies to support healthy hygiene can prove helpful. Supplies include soap, hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol (placed on every table, if supplies allow), paper towels, tissues, disinfectant wipes, masks, and no-touch/foot pedal or trash cans.

Come prepared with a credit card and avoid providing cash, use touchless payment options as much as possible, by placing on a receipt tray or on the counter rather than by hand to avoid direct hand to hand contact.
