After a ton of cautious thought, Chester Pride has taken the choice to not hold their yearly LGBT+ Celebration in an actual configuration for 2021, rather a premier virtual in a Digital Chester Pride design in a greater and bolder manner.

Over the next couple of weeks, people will be able to follow their own route (safely) through Chester city center to view decorated windows, showcasing LGBT+ history, icons, achievements, issues, and more, in retail and hospitality spaces, both existing and empty virtually.

Digital Chester Pride 2021 will occur on Saturday, August 7th, 2021, beginning at 2 pm on Chester Pride’s site Here. The arrangement will expand on a year ago’s occasion, yet it will be invigorated with considerably greater entertainment, information, and generally great fun. Chester Pride will also be felt across the city, with a special Rainbow Trail being created through the city center.

If it is possible, safe, and appropriate at the time, Chester Pride will host a few physical hosting parties where people will be able to watch the Digital Pride stream and celebrate, with a small crowd.

“Although our main event will be Digital, it doesn’t mean that Chester Pride is doing any less. We will continue to serve our LGBT+ community through a lot of exciting projects and plans, including the launch of our very own Café and LGBT+ safe space that will not only serve our community.

Warren-Lee Allmark – Chester Pride Chair

This switch to a digital format is not one the Chester Pride Committee has taken lightly. The planning for their event resumed shortly after the previous year’s event, with meetings between the charity, Cheshire West & Chester Council, statutory and emergency services taking place from January.

Covid-19 vulnerability put pressure on the charity on having the options to deliver a safe event for two years in a row, but it has been able to undertake its charitable work in partnership with its key partners and sponsors who have continued their support throughout the pandemic. Besides working to increase its support for the LGBT+ community, Chester Pride shows its commitment to the wider community and will continue with the annual Foodbank campaign, along with a new homeless campaign launching later in 2021.
