As part of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s commitment to supporting the voluntary arts, the Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Network is giving recognition to those making a difference in their community through the arts.

The event was postponed to 2020, and all those nominated who facilitated local communities to participate in the arts during the pandemic were honoured last year.

Whitby Hall, which has recently undergone major renovations, will host the awards ceremony as it has been transformed into a state-of-the-art centre of arts and culture for children, young people, and their families.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said:

At last, we can return to the original format, and in their seventh year we welcome back a free awards evening in September in the newly refurbished Whitby Hall, Ellesmere Port.

“Now is the time to nominate your projects, organisations and volunteers and celebrate their achievements with us.”

If you are a group or know of a group or individual then nominations are now open for the following categories:

  • Children & Youth Arts
  • Performing Arts
  • Visual Arts
  • Music
  • Outstanding Contribution (a special award to a group or individual)
  • Unsung Hero (that person who is always working away in the background, continuously supporting a group/project)

To nominate an organisation, or individual complete an application form and send it to: artswest@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk

The deadline for applications is 5 pm, Monday 15 August 2022.
