The escalating ongoing trademark legal battle between Knutsford Town Council and Cheshire Fashion Week Ltd has taken a deeply personal turn after reports that outgoing Town Clerk Adam Keppel-Green received a formal warning over potential harassment proceedings.
Knutsford Town Council announced a premature victory in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court citing public perception pressure, however things seem to have escalated behind the scenes. Cheshire Fashion Week Ltd v Knutsford Town Council remains active in the High Court under IP-2026-000108 as of today, 17th October 2026, raising questions about whether Knutsford residents are being misled.
The Knutsford Town Council has been accused of expanding its campaign beyond intellectual property to personal legal liability. There has been a potential harassment warning issued following targeted email correspondence sent by Adam Keppel-Green to the company director in regards to the ongoing trade mark dispute.
An investigation of the dispute by The Guide Cheshire reveals that the town clerk has taken matters into their own hands after repeatedly demanding personal payment from the director of Cheshire Fashion Week Ltd. In response to the repeated personal correspondence, Knutsford Town Clerk Adam Keppel-Green has been formally warned of potential harassment proceedings under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. The warning raises concerns about alleged harassment directed at an individual who is not personally a party to the corporate trade mark dispute.
A number of other allegations were made, including communications with uninvolved third parties, threats of press publications on national media coverage initiated by the council, attempts to undermine the director’s legal career, and actions intended to disrupt sponsorship opportunities.
Despite mounting administrative, legal, and public pressure, Town Clerk Adam Keppel-Green announced abruptly that he would be leaving Knutsford Town Council after 14 years. This move coincides with Cheshire Fashion Week Ltd’s legal actions and growing public concerns over taxpayer expenditures, casting a shadow over a fractured council in Cheshire East.
The Guide Cheshire continues to investigate developments as the case remains active and pending in the appellate courts.
